چکیده

As the study of ionospheric behavior during various solar activities is an important task, studies changes eclipse events have been widely performed in different regions globe. This paper investigates responses to on 22 July 2009 over Nepal using total electron content (TEC) measured by dual-frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers. The time-averaged Vertical TEC (vTEC) ten GPS stations from analyzed and it found that value decreases due reduction ionizing radiation. In addition, deviation day mean vTEC top five quietest days lie range ~1–5 TECu at those which were associated with partial shadow. On other hand, region (BRN2 RMTE) faced ~6–7 average value. Considering occurred just sunrise Nepalese zone, a maximum about 5 very significant. Higher therefore linked path totality obscuration rate. reveals was altered wave-like energy momentum transport, as well disc eclipse. Furthermore, cross-correlation results presented similar type signatures eclipse-induced modification Nepal. research work serves crucial future reference for comparative change variability Eclipse

Ionospheric response to total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 in different Indian regions

The variability of ionospheric response to the total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 has been studied analyzing the GPS data recorded at the four Indian low-latitude stations Varanasi (100 % obscuration), Kanpur (95 % obscuration), Hyderabad (84 % obscuration) and Bangalore (72 % obscuration). The retrieved ionospheric vertical total electron content (VTEC) shows a significant reduction (reflecte...

The solar eclipse and associated atmospheric variations observed in South Korea on 22 July 2009

A partial solar eclipse occurred in South Korea on 22 July 2009. It started at 09:30 a.m. and lasted until 12:14 LST with coverage of between 76.8% and 93.1% of the sun. The observed atmospheric effects of the eclipse are presented. It was found that from the onset of the eclipse, solar radiation was reduced by as much as 88.1 approximately 89.9% at the present research centre. Also, during the...

Gps-derived Local Tec Mapping over Peninsula Malaysia during Solar Minimum of Sunspot Cycle 24

The ionosphere is the major contributor of errors in Global Positioning System (GPS), especially during the 11-year sunspot cycle. The incoming 11-year sunspot cycle is expected to peak in 2013. The ionosphere condition is distinctly severe during ionospheric disturbances caused by high solar activity, which raises the question of how will this affect the ionosphere in the equatorial region, es...

Observations by the CUTLASS radar, HF Doppler, oblique ionospheric sounding, and TEC from GPS during a magnetic storm

Multi-diagnostic observations, covering a significant area of northwest Europe, were made during the magnetic storm interval (28–29 April 2001) that occurred during the High Rate SolarMax IGS/GPS-campaign. HF radio observations were made with vertical sounders (St. Petersburg and Sodankyla), oblique incidence sounders (OIS), on paths from Murmansk to St. Petersburg, 1050 km, and Inskip to Leice...

The ionospheric responses to the 11 August 1999 solar eclipse: observations and modeling

A total eclipse occurred on 11 August 1999 with its path of totality passing over central Europe in the latitude range 40–50 N. The ionospheric responses to this eclipse were measured by a wide ionosonde network. On the basis of the measurements of foE, foF1, and foF2 at sixteen ionosonde stations in Europe, we statistically analyze the variations of these parameters with a function of eclipse ...
